History
The Japanese Society for Research of Freezing and Drying, the predecessor of the present Japanese Society of Cryobiology and Cryotechnology, was founded in 1959 to promote basic and applied studies of low-temperature and drying from various scientific perspectives, including physics, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, agriculture, medicine, pharmacology, and mechanical engineering, while making contributions to the development of science. In 1964, it was renamed the present name. Now this unique society made up of diverse areas of studies has a history of more than 50 years.
