Our research objectives are: (1) to reveal structural mechanisms of proteins critical for life functions at atomic level, (2) to establish novel strategies for drug developments based on the mechanisms, and (3) to create compounds to regulate the life functions. Proteins playing important roles physiological processes are analyzed at an atomic resolution by using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, and cryo-electron microscopy.
