With the introduction of the GLIM criteria, malnutrition has become a clinical diagnosis and a target for therapy. It is becoming a global standard to identify individuals at risk of undernutrition through appropriate nutritional screening and to use the GLIM criteria for undernutrition diagnosis, assessment, and severity assessment. The GLIM criteria also emphasize the assessment of muscle mass, which is required in a variety of conditions. In this context, sarcopenic obesity and other conditions can also be considered as malnutritional disorders. In this session, the treatment of various malnutritional disorders will be discussed.
Various pieces of evidence generated by enthusiastic researchers have led to advances in perioperative nutrition treatment, though not everything is clear. In this session, we will discuss what is currently known and what remains unknown about perioperative nutrition therapy.
The JSPEN has embarked on a new voyage, and its destination depends on the younger generation. The future perspectives of nutrition therapy will be discussed among enthusiastic and promising young healthcare professionals in Asia and Europe.
