No. 27 Out for Spring Archeplago

2002/04/21

Now the temeprature in Stockholm is rising, and it is time to go out. I made up my mind to go for a bot trip in the Southern Stockholm Archeplago.

I took commuter train to Vastrahanninge, change to bus to Arstabryggan, and jumped on a boat of Waxholmbolaget for Uto, an island situated in the south of Stockholm. The wind was a little bit cold still, but the sun was shining on the calm surface of the Baltic sea. I could see various kind of waterfowls such as swan, eider duck and cormorant.

The water is shining.

Blue sky, blue water.

After 30 minuites ride, the boat arrived at Gruvbyggan of Uto. Here, you can find a nice resturant, youth hostel, rental bike, rental kayak and so on. As the water is still to cold for kayakking, I took a bike to go around the island. The water was very clean and I thought it would be nice to swim here in the Summer.

From top of a hill where an old wind mill is situated.

This view reminded me of that of Japan.

On the way back, I took a boat to Saltsjobaden, sitting on the deck of the boat for 2 hours and a half. The scenary was so variable and I got never tired of watching it. Probably, I will be back again soon.
