Maypole Raising at Sigtuna
Midsummer Eve is one of the most largest cerebration in Sweden and it is held on the Friday close to the astronomical Midsummer Day. Typically, they raise maypole in the afternoon of the Midsummer eve, and have party in the evening. This year, I have been to Sigtuna in the north of Stockholm to see this cerebration.
People march with the maypole accompanied by fiddlers.
It is men's job to raise it with crossed bars.
Then, people will dance around the maypole.
