Welcome to Kyoto

Dear Colleagues from Taiwan,

We Japanese devision of IAP members are delighted to welcome you to Kyoto, marking the renewal of our friendship. With the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic behind us, we look forward to sharing interesting cases, cultural experiences, and building stronger bonds. Let this be the start of a refreshed chapter in our relationship, characterized by shared experiences and strengthened connections. Over the past five years, pathology practice in Japan has changed; gene panel tests are now covered by government insurance, and a certification system for molecular pathologists has been established. Clinicians are increasingly seeking more precise information from pathologists for patient care. We expect that we have much to learn from our Taiwanese colleagues.

Safe travels, and we eagerly await the pleasure of hosting you in Kyoto.

Warm regards,
羽賀博典

Instructions for presenters

Each case review will be allotted 15 minutes, and the process will proceed as follows:

  1. The discussant will provide a brief summary of the case, discuss the histological findings, and, if necessary, present a list of differential diagnoses, concluding with their own diagnosis.
  2. Subsequently, the submitter will present the submitter's answer.
  3. Finally, under the direction of the moderator, there will be a discussion involving all participants.

While there is no limit on the number of slides, both submitters and discussants are requested to adhere to a 5-minute time limit.

Although the natural flow would be Submitter -> Discussant -> Submitter's Answer -> Discussion, due to the limited time, it has been arranged in this manner. Thank you for your cooperation.
