Welcome Message

Welcome Message

It is my great honor and pleasure to host the 58th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons on April 28th (Wed) through 30th (Fri), 2021 at Yokohama, Japan. This is not only an annual meeting for the Japanese pediatric surgeons, but also an international congress for the pediatric surgeons of all over the world as for some of the sessions, especially for the pediatric surgeons in the eastern Asian countries and religions. English papers from the outside of Japan are very welcome, because one of the main topics of this meeting will be the international collaboration on pediatric surgery. Yukichi Fukuzawa, the founder of our Keio University left us the famous words saying that medical doctors be not the approver of the natural course, with encouraging the challenges in the clinics. The main theme of this meeting is “the novel challenges in pediatric surgery”. I wish we can share and discuss about the new experience in this field together.
It is the most comfortable and beautiful season in Yokohama in April and May. The pleasant wind of the sea port, many flowers, friendly people, and excellent foods are all waiting for your visit. Yokohama is close to Tokyo, just 30 minutes bus ride from the Tokyo International Airport of Haneda, and it has a large capacity of accommodation for visitors with a reasonable price. We aim to take these advantages of Yokohama and prepare a meeting that is easy-to-attend and enjoyable for everyone including young colleagues. I wish many people would attend the 2021 Yokohama meeting of the JSPS. Please feel free to get in touch with the Organizing Secretary shown below, if you have any questions.
We are all looking forward to welcoming you.

Tatsuo Kuroda, M.D.
