On be half of the local organizing committee of WCPG2008 and Japanese Society of Psychiatric Genetics, I am most happy to welcome your participation in the XVIth World Congress for Psychiatric Genetics in Osaka, Japan, October 11-15, 2008. This is the first time for the congress to be held in Asia. I hope colleagues around the world will come to Osaka.


The advances of psychiatric genetics have been rapid and dramatic. The mission of WCPG is to give a big push for continued development of psychiatric genetics by sharing excellent scientific knowledge and constructive discussions at the congress. WCPG2008 offers many plenary lectures, symposia, oral and poster sessions.


The meeting venue, the Osaka International Convention Center is located in the center of Osaka, can be reached about an hour from Kansai International Airport and 20 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station on the bullet train. Ancient Capitals of Kyoto and Nara and fashionable port city Kobe can be reached in 40 min. by train. Please take the opportunity of sightseeing and enjoy Japan.
