| About
the Symposium |
|
The
2nd International Symposium on Neurosurgical Re-engineering of the
Damaged Brain and Spinal Cord is an official scientific meeting
of the Neurorehabilitation Committee of the World Federation of
Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) that is scheduled to take place at
the Tokyo Disney Resort, as a joint symposium with the 11th Annual
Meeting of the Society for Treatment of Coma, Japan (STC). This
symposium represents a follow-up event to the 1st International
Symposium on Neurosurgical Rehabilitation that was successfully
held in Muenster, Westphalia, Germany in 2000, and highlighted the
important role played by neurosurgeons in early and comprehensive
neurorehabilitation.

|
| Objectives |
|
ETo
identify the role of neurosurgeons and neurosurgical techniques
in early and comprehensive
neurorehabilitation
ETo
determine strategies that can facilitate the patient's functional
recovery through a multi
-disciplinary approach in early neurorehabilitation
ETo
review the recent advances in neurosurgical techniques which contribute
to the patient's
functional recovery from neurological deficits
