The 87th Annual Meeting of the Physiological Society of Japan offers Travel Grant to the non-Japanese students and post-docs traveling mainly from Asia and Oceania country to present high quality papers at the meeting. Only one person per abstract (the presenting author) will be considered for the Travel Grant. The funding for travel will depend on the travel distance and not exceed maximum 100,000 JPY per grant, limiting to 10 winners. After completion of the abstract submission, please send an e-mail to the Congress Secretariat (seiri87@iwate-med.ac.jp) for the application.
Please note that applications for the Travel Grant should be submitted between November 24th (Tue), 2009 and December 21st (Mon), 2009. For more information, please access to the meeting Websites ( http://seiri87.umin.jp/english/ or http://seiri87.umin.jp/).
To apply for the Travel Grant, please follow the next steps:
- Step 1. Registration
- Register your participation to the meeting via the meeting Website. Registration ID and Password will be provided when your registration will be completed.
- Step 2. Application
- Submit abstract of your paper for your presentation via Abstract Submission of the meeting Website through UMIN. Your Registration ID and Password will be provided from UMIN after completion of the Submission. The both UMIN ID and Registration ID are required.
Five documents as follows are required to prepare.
- 1) Travel Grant Application Form (signature and photograph are required)
- 2) Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- 3) Publication list
- 4) Recommendation letter from a supervisor or a head of department.
- 5) List of Reference for 1 person, who are able to evaluate the applicant.
- The application form, CV, and publication list must be completed by applicants and submitted to the Congress Secretariat. The recommendation letters from a supervisor or a head of department and a letter from the referee must be sent directly by a supervisor or a head of department and the referee independently of the applicant. It is the applicants’ responsibility to ensure that this occurs.
- Step 3. Submission
- Submission of the required documents must be made between November 24th (Tue), 2009 and December 21st (Mon), 2009.
As an advanced submission, all documents should be submitted via e-mail (PDF file attachment) or FAX. Signatures and photo are not required in advanced submission. The late receipt of any material will not be considered as application.
As a normal submission, Original three documents and two recommendation letters must be sent to the Congress Secretariat via airmail by December 24th (Thu), 2009 in addition to e-mail or FAX. Signatures and photo are required on the documents in this final form of submission.
All documentation will be remained as the property of the Physiological Society of Japan and will not be returned. Applications who wish to have copies of any material should do so prior to sending them.
Decision and notification
The decision will be made by December 27th (Thu), 2009. The winners will be notified by e-mail. The list of winners is also shown on the Travel Grant in the home page of the meeting.
Payment
Payments will be made at the meeting, on the confirmation of the expense by receipt of original invoices (flight fares etc) and certification by e-mail correspondence from the Supervisor/Head of Department of attendance.
