No. 20 New Year in Stockholm

Since the end of last year, the temperature dropped and real winter arrived. On the new year day, everything was covered by snow.

 

The snow makes the town quite beautiful.

The way of cerebrating new year is totaly different between Japan and Sweden. In Japan, new year day has traditionally been one of the most important day of the year, and it is usually quiet and calm. On the other hand, people makes marry on new year day in Sweden. The typical way is to open a bottle of Champagne with a lot of fireworks.

I think Swedish people are quite good at spending winter. They make most of snows and ices. Many Swedish people says that they like winter with snow rather than dark autumn.
