Karskoga; The Labolatory of Alfred Nobel

June 2002

On the way back from Selma Lagerlöf 's house in Mårbacka, I stopped by at Karsokoga where the laboratory of Alfred Nobel remains. Alfred Nobel did not live and work here for long period, however the atmosphere of the location was quite impressive for me telling the something of that industry-oriented scientist. In one side, there was a large manor house, and on the other side, there were laboratory buildings adjacent to the factory. Aside the manor house, the old warehouse were changed into a industry museum displaying the history of the area and the weapons they made.

Nobel's laboratory at Karskoga.

A plate telling that he worked between 1894 and 1896.

The manaor house belonged to Nobel.

The stature of Nobel in the garden.

A tank was desplayed in the Industry Museum.
