<Transfer Package>

Morning transfer from Narita by motorcoach to Karuizawa. Arrive at hotel in Kauizawa in the afternoon.

Tour Highlights:
Visit Kaiko-en garden lying on castle ruins where a grand view of the Chikuma River can be see from a top of the stonewalls, and a visit to Nunobiki Kannon which stands on a precipice viewing Mt. Asama.

AP-2: Hot spring village of Bessho and Ueda Castle Ruins

Date: May 14 (Tue) 9:00-17:00
Fare: JPY11,800 per person
Tour Highlights:
Visit Anrakuji Temple with three-story octagonal pagoda, a national treasure, and Jorakuji Temple in a hot spring village of Bessho, and ruins of the Ueda Castle which was first built in 1583 by the Sanada Clan. Lunch at a local restaurant, en route.

<Excursion Program>

EX-1: Onioshidashi and Shiraitonotaki Cascade

Date: May 15 (Wed) 13:30-17:00
Fare: JPY5,400 per person
Tour Highlights:
Visit the scenic Onioshidashi Park, an enormous stream of solidified lava formed by the eruption of Mt. Asama in 1783, and Shiraitonotaki Cascade, a beautiful wide curtain of fine white water strings.

EX-2: Sightseeing of ヤKamakura of Shinshuユ Shioda-daira

Date: May 15 (Wed) 13:30-17:30
Fare: JPY5,500 per person
Tour Highlights:
Visit two temples around old hot spring village of Bessho, Chuzenji Temple with its Yakushido (Specified National Cultural Property) and Zenzanji Temple with a three-story pagoda (Specified National Cultural Property). These temples were built by Kukai or Kobo-Daishi (A.D.774-835) who introduced the Shingon doctorines of Buddhism into Japan.

Schedule:
May 16 (Thu) KARUIZAWA - TOKYO - KYOTO
Afternoon transfer to Tokyo Station to take メBulletモ train to Kyoto, viewing Mt. Fuji en route (weather permitting). Stay overnight at hotel in Kyoto.
May 17 (Fri) KYOTO - NARA - KYOTO
Full-day sightseeing in Kyoto which was the old capital of Japan (794-1868) and Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan which left an important mark in Japanese history. Visit Nijo castle noted for its gorgeous interiors, Golden pavilion, Todaiji temple housing a great image of Buddha, deer park where many tame deer roams the grounds, and colorful Kasuga shrine with 3,000 lanterns.

Tour disbands at the hotel. Room is available until regular check-out time.
*It is recommended that arrangements for your return flight to your country are made from Kansai International Airport.

<Tour Conditions>

Tour fare includes
1) sightseeing and transfers as shown in the itineraries, by motor coach and/or sightseeing boats on a seat-sharing basis, plus admission fees to temple, shrine etc.;
2) Tourist -class reserved seats on メBullet メ train and other trains;
3) Meals as specified in each itinerary;
4) English-speaking guide services;
5)Standard hotel rooms on a half-twin or single basis;
6) Baggage transfer and handling (no more than two normal-size pieces per person; at certain times and places, this service is not included owing to limited baggage capacity and the unavailability of porters at stations and/or hotels).

Karuizawa is one of most famous resorts in Japan. There are many sports facilities such as a bowling center, golf courses, tennis courts, and bicycle rental stations for you to stay active during your trip.

<Application and Payment>
Participants wishing to reserve hotel accommodations and tours should complete the application form and return it by fax or by mail to reach JTB no later than April 1, 2002. (Confirmation sheet will be sent by JTB)
Application should be accompanied by a remittance covering the hotel deposit (one night room charge except for cottages) and/or total tour fare due to JTB. (The hotel deposit will be credited to your bill. All hotel expenses deducting the hotel deposit should be paid directly to the hotel.)
No reservation will be confirmed in the absence of this payment. Personal checks are NOT accepted. All payment must be in Japanese yen. The remitterユs name should be the same as the participantユs name. If the remittance covers more than one person, please inform us of the name of each participant.
