Message from the New Editor-in-Chief of International Heart Journal

      As of January 1, 2024, it is my honour to have taken over the job of Editor-in-Chief of International Heart Journal from Dr. Issei Komuro. International Heart Journal was first published bimonthly as the Japanese Heart Journal in 1960. Japanese Heart Journal published manuscripts on clinical and experimental cardiovascular research that originated mainly from Japan. Around 2000, submissions from countries outside Japan increased and actually exceeded those from Japan. In 2005, Japanese Heart Journal was renamed as International Heart Journal to better reflect the increasing international significance of the journal.
      In recent years, we have shifted our focus to the rapid publication of more manuscripts from around the world. Online submissions started in 2013, and International Heart Journal became an open access online journal in 2018 in conjunction with the termination of publishing a print edition.
      International Heart Journal aims to contribute to the promotion of cardiovascular research, and welcomes the submission of manuscripts related to but not limited to clinical, basic research and case reports. We are looking forward to your continued interest and support of the Journal.
