About Hakone

Lying 90km west of the Tokyo Metropolis, Hakone is one of the most well-known tourist resorts in Japan. With Mr. Fuji rising majestically in the background and the peaceful Lake Ashi nestled in its heart, Hakone is surrounded by scenic mountains and natural greenery, and boasts an abundance of hot water gushing from the many hot springs scattered along its streams.

Hakone is a magnificent national park where historic sites and modern tourist facilities blend harmoniously with nature. The area still retains many cultural properties with art museums, science museums, and museums of historical artifacts, as well as modern accommodation and amusement facilities.
