SCIENTIFIC EXHIBITION
An international exhibition of scientific and technical equipment and
literature will be held during the conference period at the Reception Hall B on the 2nd floor.
COFFEE SERVICE
Coffee service will be available at scheduled break times throughout the Conference at the Reception Hall Foyer on the 2nd floor.
LUNCHES
Luncheons will be conducted as a portion of the program.
A light lunch will be provided at the Luncheon Seminars.
A variety of restaurants and shops are at the Observation Terrace connected via a gallery on the 2nd floor from the Conference venue and the Hotel Westin Awaji.

Blessed with such picturesque scenery, the Hyogo Prefectural Awaji Yumebutai International Conference Center officially opened on March 9, 2000 on Awaji Island, the setting of the romantic myth of Japan's creation.
The Center is fully equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia facilities, and it offers a distinctive alternative to urban convention facilities.
CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
The climate in Awaji is relatively mild all year round.
The average temperature in November is 13.4 (56.1F). A jacket or sweater is necessary.
The Awaji International Conference Hall and official hotels are fully heated and air-conditioned.
ELECTRICITY
Although 100v is the standard power supply throughout Japan, regional differences exist in cycles (Awaji and Western Japan - 60Hz, Tokyo and Eastern Japan - 50Hz).
Most hotels are equipped with 110v and 220v outlets, and converters are usually available on request.
SHOPPING
A variety of shopping opportunities can be found in and around Awaji.
Traditional arts and crafts can be purchased in numerous shops.
A 5% sales tax will be applied to almost all consumer purchases made in Japan

It is recommended that participants purchase Japanese yen traveler's checks prior to leaving their own countries.
Exchange of major currencies is available at most banks, airports and large hotels.
