Please send to the Secretariat (biocolor-soc@umin.ac.jp) your opinions, questions and applications for participation. [The essential features of the plan] (1) Pictures of dermatological diseases to be provided by Dr. Toshihiko Numahara will be taken with both a multiband camera and a completely calibrated RGB camera. Then the influence of color accuracy on medical diagnosis will be analyzed using these. (2) Dr. Toshihiko Numahara will be appointed as the project leader, and other members will be researchers in academic fields etc. as well as commercial companies providing essential equipment. (3) This plan will constitute a part of applications to a multitude of funding sources of grants for the coming fiscal year. (4) If a member of the project belongs to other projects of similar purpose, any overlap of titles will be avoided. (5) In case Dr. Toshihiko Numahara would become disqualified to be the leader of a research group supported by official grants, another member will take his place as a matter of form. [Jul. 28, 2002, Secretary, Masahiro NISHIBORI] -----------------------[Digital Biocolor News]----------------------- News : The 4th Symposium of the 'Color' of Digital Imaging in Biomedicine - A Short Report ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The above-mentioned symposium was successfully held by 11 attendees on July 27th-28th at Shodoshima International Hotel, Kagawa, Japan. In the introductory panel discussion, following each presentation there were so many active discussions one after another that the scheduled time had to be extended by nearly 5 hours without any intermission. In the free night workshop, much more frank discussions continued until about 3 AM without any break. Although there were sometimes conflicting opinions, at last all attendees reached a consensus so that they got together in one group and proposed a unanimous research plan. This one group submitted proposals before the deadline. All attendees were rewarded with funds equivalent to their lodging fees.
