Multiple Cellular Signaling through a PAF Receptor


A single subtype of PAF receptor couples with at least two different types of G-proteins (Gi, and Gq). Intracellular effectors are abbreviated: PLC, phospholipase C; PLD, phospholipase D., MEK, MAPK/Erk kinase; MAPK, mitogen-activated protein kinase; PI-3K, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase; AC, adenylate cyclase; cPLA2, cytosolic (arachidonate-specific) phospholipase A2; AA, arachidonic acid.　Signaling are examined using CHO cells overexpres sing PAF receptor; a similar finding observed also in various native cells.
