The ESC congress is the world’s largest and most influential scientific congress for cardiovascular professionals, as well as a wide variety of sub-specialty events. European Society of Cardiology Congress opened on 25 Aug and it end on 29 Aug 2018. First of all, I would like to thank to my dear Professor Masataka Sata for giving me an opportunity to attend this conference. I always appreciate for your amazing support and generosity. I was very happy, because it was first time for me to visit Europe. Munich was a great beautiful city, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. The city is known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration and its beer halls, including the famed Hofbräuhaus, founded in 1589. In the Altstadt (Old Town), central Marienplatz square contains landmarks such as Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus (town hall), with a popular glockenspiel show that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century. After landing to Munich on 24th of August, we (me and my colleague Gulnur) had chance to visit central city.

The Congress Programme Committee was structuring the finest in science, innovation and research in cardiology into more than 500 sessions and over 4,500 abstract presentations with a world-renowned faculty. This year Congress’ Spotlight was “Valvular Heart Disease” so that the innovative treatments, techniques and ongoing research in this critical field of cardiology was received particular exposure. During the conference, attendees shared opinions, thoughts and suggestions for consideration. In my case I presented 2 poster presentations on this conference. One is entitled as 'Title: Atheroprotective effects of ticagrelor, a P2Y12 antagonist, in apolipoprotein-E-deficient mice' has been presented on 27th of August. The another one is entitled as 'Title: Inhibition of S1P2 receptor ameliorates endothelial dysfunction and prevents atherogenesis in apolipoprotein-E-deficient mice' has been presented on 28th of August.

During my presentation many audience was attended and was interested. I have received 5-6 questions for each presentation. For me this conference was an excellent opportunity to share my work with others, to see other people what are doing and inspired by other people.

I also have interacted with other some colleagues. I could have listened and learnt cutting-edge science, latest trials, new guidelines, great debates, experts’ advice. During the day I have participated various sessions. Topics included: Risk Factors, Prevention, Rehabilitation, Sports Cardiology, Aortic Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Stroke, Heart Failure. ESC Congress 2018 which focused on Cardiology, Medical, Health, Heart Diseases, Cardiovascular and Acute Cardiovascular Care.
On Aug 26th, under invitation of Dr. Soeki, our Cardiovascular department’s members gathered and enjoyed the delicious food in the restaurant which located in the city center. The restaurant was very big and the food especially sausages was very delicious. After conference, dr. Soeki took along us to beautiful museum Neue Pinakothek. Finally, I am extremely grateful to Prof. Masataka Sata and staffs and my colleagues in cardiovascular department for their kind support. Also, I would like to say thank you to my supervisor Dr. Daiju Fukuda. I always appreciate for your smart and excellent advice and guidance. Thank you for everything.

In 2018, the European Society of Cardiology Congress (ESC 2018, August 25-30) was held in Munich, Germany. At first, I would like to express my thankfulness to Prof. Masataka Sata for his kind support for us to attending the International academic meeting which related to cardiovascular medicine. After over 15 hours flight, my colleague Byamba-san and me safely arrived at the Munich city. I was very excited because it was first time for me to visit Europe. It is very beautiful city full of traditional gorgeous churches and everywhere is Europe style historical and modern architecture. After the flight first day we had the chance to experience the whole city famous historical and cultural travelling points by sitting in city sightseeing bus.

My presentation was the first day of the meeting (August 25) and title is “Gender disparities of distribution of epicardial adipose tissue and its impact on coronary artery disease” in the rapid fire abstract with oral presentation. It was really meaningful for me by short presentation to experience the academic environment with other scholars from all over the world to discuss the same research category to exchange idea. I was asked several questions from chairperson and could response her and learned some important points from her questions.

During the meeting, Byamba san and me together attended many lectures which related to the cardiovascular drug using updated guidelines and also many clinical research lectures or clinical cases report talked by top researchers worldwide. I found that ESC congress have been mainly focusing on the clinical study and presentation and patients’ case report and solving method. Although the meeting is full of many academic presentations with huge information and studies, I was really happy that I can try my best to attend lectures that I am interested in and at least get some update and improvement in my professional knowledge.

In Aug 26th, under invitation of Dr. Soeki, our Tokushima university members gathered and enjoyed the delicious food in “Zum Augustiner” restaurant which located in city center. The restaurant is very gorgeous and the food in it is very delicious. We all enjoyed it.

The last day of the meeting, together with Dr. Soeki, Dr. Ito and another two resident doctors from our department, we had the chance to visit the classic museum in Munich. The museum is storing and exhibiting the most original world famous paintings which was centuries ago in Europe. We enjoyed the beautiful large scale of paintings and learned some knowledge about different culture and history. It was really fun. Also we together visited the Olympia center and BMW car exhibition center.

At last, I sincerely appreciate Prof. Masataka Sata for his kind support and help during my doctoral course study. I also express my thankfulness to Prof. Michio Shimabukuro for his patient guidance and supervision for my Ph.D. essay accomplishment. I also extend many thanks to Dr.Fukuda and Dr. Yagi for their kind suggestions when I met difficulties in the research. I am really grateful for all doctors and staffs and my colleagues in cardiovascular department for their kind support. Thank you very much.
